Buddy is Megan's new horse and hopefully a ribbon winner for her at the shows. He is a 9 year old dark bay Thoroughbred gelding. He stands about 16.1hh and is very handsome.

His registered show name is "One Tough Customer" :-)

Buddy is a very quiet boy, sometimes too quiet. He requires a lot of leg and butt on the flat but at least he is not taking off or bucking.

Buddy & Megan have been partners now for just over a year and are figuring each other out quite well. The show season in 2011 was not as successful as they hoped as Buddy had problems with his feet and back but he is now better and jumping great. They are both looking forward to a great show year this year. One thing for sure, it sure is nice to see the smile on her face when she rides him!

Luke is the newest addition to our family. He is a 19 year old quarter horse who stands about 15'3 and is much broader than any of the other horses we have.

Luke is a lovely boy who spends most of his time with his head in the hay bale :-)

Luke is a former barrel racer who is now enjoying his retirement with us. He is Randy's trail horse and they have gone kilometers and kilometers together. They love to just saddle up and head out in the back of our property and then through the neighbours yard to the 5th sideroad. However, when you turn him around, he knows he is heading home and that is when you see what he has... determination and more speed.

Shadow is our wonderful family dog. We got Shadow when our daughter was about 4 years old when she was a 6 week old puppy. She was part of a litter of about 12 and was the cutest one in the bunch. We fell in love with her colouring.

The people we got her from (near Shelburne, Ontario) told us that she is part Australian Shepherd and part Collie and part German Shepherd. In other words, she is a little mix of everything and definitley has the traits of a Shepherd and Collie.

Shadow is the best dog we have ever had. She is wonderful with kids and other dogs and we have never seen her bite anyone or anything (except when she is play biting). She used to love chasing tennis balls and frisbees but would rather you go get anything thrown for her now...LOL She has a couple of annoyances... she sheds more than I would like and she barks when someone LEAVES the house :-)

Lexis is the newest member of our animal loving family. She is about 2 years old and is a long hair dashchund/terrier mix of some kind. We adopted her from the Orangeville SPCA and I think she is really happy in her new home.

Lexie is definitely a lap dog. Almost any time someone sits down, she is eyeing them to see if their lap will meet her standards...LOL

She loves to play and her favourite toy used to be her tennis ball but now loves any toy that squeaks. She does everything she can to try and get the squeker out. And fast! Wow her little legs move at mach speed when she is chasing her ball across the living room.

She tries to play with Shadow every once in awhile but not in a pesty way. Shadow just says, "yeah, whatever" and goes on about her business. Lexie loves to go shopping already... we took her to get a coat and she had a blast going into the pet stores. She steals peoples' hearts when they see her all bouncy and wagging her tail like crazy.

She loves the horses and going on her daily hike with Randy. She is entertainment plus, that's for sure. Everytime a dog (real or cartoon) or other animal comes on TV, she barks at them. It sometimes makes it had to watch a show and hear what is happening over her barking.

Charlie was our first horse. He is a 6 year old Chestnut Thoroughbred gelding. He stands about 16hh and seems to still be growing.

His age may say it all... he sometimes acts like a 6 year old child... he gets in moods about things that don't make him happy and he will do just about anything for food... especially treats. Not to mention, he can be super stubborn when he wants to be :-)

Charlie is working to be Megan's show horse. He loves to jump and quickly picks up on things that he is being taught. We are happy to have Carole Kuhlberg as not only Megan's coach but also Charlie's trainer.

Charlie has a new home now with a lovely young lady in the Hamilton area. We'll miss him and his antics but know that he is being loved just as much as he was here.

Ellie is our loveable, little mare. She is about 15 years old and we definitely think she is or has some Arabian in her. She stands about 14.3hh and is just the perfect size for me (mom :-).

Have you ever wanted one of those horses that you can jump on her back and toodle around bareback without a bridle... one that you can lie on and hug? Well, Ellie is that girl. She will put up with just about anything (including a 6 yr old gelding who THINKS he's the boss) and never kicks up a fuss.

She is sweet and an extremely easy keeper and the horse that I have always dreamed of owning. She just wants to be loved :-)
